Xarelto (Rivaroxaban)

Xarelto (rivaroxaban) is part of a family of anticoagulants, known as “direct thrombin inhibitors,” which are designed to reduce the threat of blood clots and strokes by thinning the blood. Xarelto was introduced in November 2011, as a joint venture by Bayer and Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen subsidiary, and is on the path to becoming a blockbuster medication, with more than $1 billion in annual sales.

Bayer and Johnson & Johnson aggressively promoted Xarelto as a superior blood thinner to Couamadin (warfarin), which has been the standard anticoagulation therapy for years. The manufacturers represented that the drug is easier to use than warfarin, because patients do not need to be monitored regularly during treatment.

Xarelto is misbranded, the FDA found, because its package failed to warn of irreversible and fatal bleeding.

In other words, the German scientists at Bayer failed to make a reversal agent for uncontrolled bleeding and did not mention it when the Xarelto product was sold in the U.S.A.

This is another battle against big pharma. Xarelto is being advertised to baby boomers for Afib without regard to the risk to us! I bet you did not know that no other country, save I, allows TV advertising of prescription drugs!

Xarelto is a dangerous blood thinner and another instance of a foreign drug company (Bayer) pushing a risky product solely for profits! Again, if you or a loved one suffered controlled bleeding while making Xarelto let my mass tort team fight for you and your family!!!!
